Retaining Architects and Design Professionals

In order to expedite State funding and construction, designs for each school project must be completed and submitted to the Division of the State Arhcitect (DSA) for its approval. Projects may not be constructed and applications for State School Facility Program Funding may not be filed without a DSA stamp.

Modernization drawings will require five to nine months to complete. New schools typically take twelve months to eighteen months of design time. Existing plans may require updating if they are more than eighteen months old. Updated and new plans will need as much as four to six months of review time by DSA.

AUSD is using the services of LPA, Inc. as the architect and Kleenman-Roebbelen Construction for construction management.

LPA,Inc. has proposed a modernization methodology for design phase of each site project.
