2011/12 Budget
Background:
On June 22, 2010, Measure E parcel tax was defeated with a 65.6% yes vote. As a result, the Board of Education needs to reduce 2011/12 expenditures by $4 million based on the budget adopted on June 22, 2010. School closure/consolidation and program reductions decisions need to be made by December, 2010. At the same time, a parcel tax proposal will be prepared for a November decision.
Governor's Budget Proposal
In Janaury 2011, the newly elected Governor will submit their 2011/12 budget and thier initial plans for plans for public education funding.
