1.) Employees of the Month

Background: Each month we recognize employees for their accomplishments nominated by fellow employees. This month we recognized:

  • Otis staff of educators: Michael Haddon, Audrey Hyman, Sophie McLish, Victoria Varghese, Sasha Zeldin and Rose Jackosn, SPED
  • Diana Kenney, Teacher on Special Assignment Technology Services

2.) Public Hearing: Approval of Resolution 10-0075 to Adopt a Revised Categorical Flexibility for 2009/10

Background: Staff presented a revised budget for 2009/10 categorcal flexibility. The Board approved the resolution.

3.) Public Hearing: Approval of Resolution 10-0076 to Adopt Categorical Flexibility for 2010/11

Background: Staff presented a budget for 2010/11categorcal flexibility. The Board approved the resolution.

Fiscal Implications: None

4.)  Public Hearing: Approval of Resolution 10-0077 to Adopt Final Budget Cuts for 2010/11

Background: Staff presented a budget for 2010/11. The Board approved the resolution with a modification to keep GATE funding at some level.

5.) California School Employees Association 860 Ratification of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Regarding Furloughs

Background: Without the passage of Measure E, employees will need to take furlough days. This MOU establishes the furlough process for CSEA 860.

Fiscal Implications: None.

6.) California School Employees Association 27 Ratification of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Regarding Furloughs

Background: Without the passage of Measure E, employees will need to take furlough days. This MOU establishes the furlough process for CSEA 27.

Fiscal Implications: None.

7.) Ratification of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Alameda Education Association (AEA) Regarding East Bay Regional Occupation Programs

Background: AEA and the EBROP have developed an MOU to establish working conditions for teachers providing services to EBROP .

Fiscal Implications: None.

8.) Measure C Final Report and Completion of Summer School Facilities Projects

Background: The final report of the Citizens Oversight Committee was presented that certified all of the funds were used as intended.

Fiscal Implications:  None.

9.) Approval of Resolution 10-0078 Intent to Layoff or Reduce Classified Employees

Background: Due to revised May budget presented by the Governor, there are limited funds for pre school progam. As a result, employees must be notified of potential layoffs.

Fiscal Implications: None.

10.) Resolution No. 10-0080 Intent to Dismiss Certificated (WCDC) Employees Due to Reduction in lack of Work and/or Lack of Funds for 2010/11 School  Year

Background: Due to revised May budget presented by the Governor, there are limited for pre school progam. As a result, employees must be notified of potential layoffs..

Fiscal Implications: None.

11.) Measure E Parcel Tax Update

Background: Results for Measure E were announced. Measure was losing with 65.4% yes votes.

Fiscal Implications: Significant reduction of expenditures.
